Creating shapes in the hair gives an interesting effect, especially for my editorial look. Using polystyrene balls makes it easy to work with as they are light and will stay in place, and also can be easily pierced with kirby grips to keep them in place and attached on the hair too.
It is really easy to do, using different sized polystyrene balls, covering them with hair using crepe hair or the models own hair and then fastening into place with hair grips and hair bands.
Here are some images of what I produced. These did not take me long either and shows how effective they can look using a short period of time.
