The hairstylist for this shoot was Riviera De Cordova, who works closely with the makeup artist for this shoot too, as they have a company together. Cordova interestingly specialises in Bridal hair and promotes herself with Bridal packages, however these images do not have the look of a Bride what-so-ever. Although she does some editorial work, she is more focused on the wedding and beauty area of hair styling, and I think that it is interesting to see what else she can do with her creativity and handiwork.
On these pages I love how the added text also makes you think about your own makeup application, and how you can experiment with your products and use them for different purposes than their primary purpose.
"Think outside the box and use eyelashes in different ways. Don't be afraid to be creative!"
"Tribal tattoos are usually black or blue. Feel free to use Russian Lip Pencil to add colour to your design for a bold look."
"Don't forget the body makeup. Blend the Skin Serum with your favourite Bronzer for a soft glow without the sun's damage."
"When using one single colour, make it interesting by making subtle gradations in intensity. use it more opaque as you move toward the eyes."
"Learn the psychology of colour. For example, by using red around the eyes you can make your model - or yourself - look fierce and powerful."
"The face is your canvas. For a textured mouth feel free to use your fingers instead of a lip brush."
These quotes were written beside the images on the pages and give different tips about different makeup products and looks. The products used are all by Makeup Store.
Yes! These images are exciting and indicate that you understand how to read a fashion/beauty editorial.
